Bunbrosna GAA notes 17th February 2019

Intermediate Football

Training continues apace with large attendance each night. We had an away challenge game against Kilcock during the week While Kilcock emerged victorious on the night we saw some excellent contributions from Bunbrosna during the game and we look forward to building on these strengths going forward in 2019.

Underage

Thank you to all who attended Saturday’s Registration Day. We were absolutely delighted by the huge turnout. All of our Underage players who registered on the day received a gift of a football and a gum shield. We are very thankful to the generous sponsors of both the footballs and gum shields

It was great to catch up with last year’s squads and it was brilliant to see so many new faces come along. We extend a huge Céad Míle Fáilte to everybody who is new to the club and the area. We promise that you will have great fun and enjoyment while learning and improving your football skills.

Training sessions which will begin on Saturday March 9th, take place every Saturday at our pitch in Bunbrosna for all age groups from 4 to 12 beginning at 1.00pm and ending at 2.00pm.

For those who couldn’t attend our Registration day registration is still available on line by following the link on our website http:// bunbrosna.com /membership or on the Clubify app. Registration will take about 10 minutes and footballs and gum shields will be available at training

Parents of registered members will also be included in our Underage WhatsApp group which will keep everybody informed and up to date about their children’s training, matches and other significant club events.

We look forward to another fun-filled, enjoyable and successful Underage season.

Rounders (See attached photo)

We are very grateful to Aidan Geerah from Geerah’s Daybreak Ballinalack for his generous sponsorship of a set of jerseys for our Rounders team. The presentation took place at Aidan’s beautifully newly renovated landmark shop in the village on Saturday last.

Speaking at the presentation Valerie Molloy, Chairperson of Bunbrosna Rounders Club thanked Aidan for his generosity and outlined his long association with Bunbrosna GAA. She went on to comment that “ It is a very positive, progressive and inclusive initiative that Bunbrosna club has undertaken to encourage teamwork and respect throughout our senior and underage structure by the introduction of Rounders as well as through the more traditional avenues like Football and Scór"

Valerie said that the players are delighted to have these beautiful jerseys to wear in this season’s competitions and that they would represent the club with pride where ever play might take them.

Sympathy

We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Breda and the Walsh family on the sad passing of Breda’s mother at the weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
